COLLECTIONS pt.1

You either associate yourself as a collector or you don’t. There really isn’t an in between, at least not in my opinion.

I am a collector, always have been - you know the type, the kid with her pockets full of rocks that are ‘pretty’ or random feathers, shells, pieces of branches. Suffice to say I am still that kid. Forever stopping on hiking trails to admire a mushroom or look at an interesting piece of bark. I don’t always ‘take’ these tid-bits but rather store them as memories or them as photos - all of which are ways to collect.

The fact of the matter is that I find nature so interesting and the minutiae of earthly objects brings me immense joy. I recently brought out some of my more interesting findings and laid them out. Of course I couldn’t include everything and as a matter of fact as I’m writing this I realized I left out some incredible specimens. For another time perhaps.

In many ways my collectors spirit has influenced my work and inspired me to look at things from new perspectives. You can see some of my work here:

Whether you collect objects, rocks, art, music or appreciate a good collection I think we can be friends.

If you like Art, if you like nature, biology, animals or plants then you’re in the right place.
